Vermee Packaging Technology
Flexibility with Modular Cooling Systems
The importance of effective cooling systems in production, filling, and packaging plants for hot-filled product masses is undeniable. However, the requirements for cooling systems vary depending on production conditions and volume. Therefore, Vermee Packaging Technology offers modular cooling systems that provide high flexibility and adaptability to customer needs.
Modular and Flexible
Adaptation to your Production Conditions
Our modular cooling systems consist of individual, independent cooling units that can be installed and combined as needed. Whether product bags with a density lower than 1, which float on the water surface, or higher than 1, which sink. Our cooling systems can be equipped with an underwater conveyor belt at various heights. This ensures that every bag exits in a controlled, cooled state. As a result, our customers can easily adapt their cooling performance to production conditions for different product masses. This achieves higher efficiency through controlled and accelerated product cooling, as well as lower energy consumption. A specialty of Vermee Verpackungstechnologie is also designing space-saving solutions for tight spaces. The modularity of our cooling systems allows our customers to quickly and easily increase or decrease cooling performance as required.
Adjustment of Cooling Performance
Scalability for Optimized Production
Another advantage of our modular cooling systems is their scalability. Our customers can quickly and easily adjust the cooling performance by adding or removing cooling units. This is particularly helpful when production conditions change or production volumes increase. For example, an international corporate customer’s hot glue production volume was expanded from 1,200 kg/h to 1,800 kg/h simply by adding more cooling elements with underwater conveyor belts. The new cooling zone routing around the corner with an underwater belt was also no problem for the Vermee Verpackungstechnologie team. This allowed the production capacity to be increased cost-effectively.
Space-Saving
Powerful Cooling Systems for New Product Developments
Our modular design also offers significant value for space-optimized cooling systems. Often, existing production lines can only provide limited space for new systems. When powerful cooling systems are still required, highly individualized shapes can be developed and built.
For example, for a food producer who needed to cool 1.3 tons per hour of product in 750g bags from 80°C to 23°C on an area of about 15 sqm. The space-saving design was constructed in a two-step process. The initial production volume of about 800 kg/h was realized at ground level with a cooling system and underwater conveyor belt.
Ten months later, in a second step, an additional level was inserted above the first structure on a steel frame, effectively doubling the cooling capacity. The customer’s new product development was thus accommodated in the tightest space using a double-decker system.
Savings in Personnel Costs and Product Scrap
Controlled Cooling of Special Products with Gas Development
A frequent requirement for our modularly adaptable cooling systems is the controlled guidance of products that change their thermal properties and aggregate states. The transformation of the products is part of the recipe. This occurs, for example, with gas-evolving products such as certain types of explosives or chemical emulsions, requiring reliable product guidance within the cooling system. These controlled processes minimize personnel costs and reduce product scrap.
Sustainable
Sustainability through Reduction of Energy Consumption
As a responsible supplier, Vermee Verpackungstechnologie places great emphasis on sustainability. Our modular cooling systems are designed to reduce our customers’ energy consumption and thus contribute to environmental protection. We ensure that our cooling systems meet the highest standards and operate in an energy-efficient manner to minimize environmental impact.
Overall, our modular cooling systems are an attractive and reliable solution for production, filling, and packaging plants that require a high degree of flexibility and efficiency. Temperature Sensivity – Vicosity Stability
Challenges in Cooling Viscous Products
Many pumpable or highly viscous products react sensitively to temperature changes during processing and filling. Even small fluctuations can influence viscosity, flow behaviour and ultimately product weight and quality.
Typical challenges in industrial production include:
-
viscosity changes due to temperature fluctuations and sinking product behaviour
- controlled transportation for pouches with or without air inclusions
-
space optimization, including scalable production rates
- reduced production stability and higher reject rates
Standard cooling solutions often do not sufficiently consider the individual behaviour of the product. As a result, operators frequently need to manually readjust parameters, leading to production interruptions and inconsistent product quality.
Is Your Cooling Process Optimized?
Initial questions:
-
Does your product change viscosity during production?
-
Could you increase your cooling capacity by 30% without expanding the floor space?
-
Is your cooling water routed in a closed loop?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, an optimized cooling system may significantly improve your process stability.
