Vermee Packaging Technology

Customization of Production and Packaging Systems

As a manufacturer of packaging machines for pasty and viscous masses in flexible flat film, we know that our customers often face specific challenges that require individual solutions. At Vermee, we work in partnership with our customers and listen actively to understand their requirements and translate them into tailored solutions.

From System Configurations to Turnkey Service

Tailored Solutions

Our combination of long-standing experience, open work methods, and a broad expert network in the food and chemical sectors allows us to offer a wide range of solutions. These include:

  • Custom machine configurations for dosing, filling, packaging (primary packaging), singulation, post-processing, cooling, drying, endpackaging (secondary packaging), etc.
  • Tailor-made closure systems for packaging
  • Customized control options and switch cabinet construction for Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and similar systems
  • Turnkey project execution for large-scale undertakings

Through our individualized solutions, we ensure packaging systems that operate efficiently and with high quality.

Groundbreaking Systems

Translating Product and Production Requirements

One of the biggest challenges companies face is keeping their products at the state-of-the-art level. This is especially true for manufacturers of sensitive pumpable masses. In the past, labor-intensive production lines for filling PUR hotmelt were considered the industry benchmark. Most of the industry sought advanced filling and packaging technology to automate and increase efficiency.

Switching to new systems can be difficult because hot fill processes for sensitive products come with special technical demands. Precise translation of product and production requirements into an innovative packaging system is the decisive factor.

With “Vermee Packaging Technology”, we have achieved this translation in practice. For a major corporation and a midsize company facing this challenge, we developed an efficient 2-kg unit filling with clips and integrated an automated cooling system into the downstream process. The result was an innovative packaging system that not only replaced outdated production lines but also made the overall process significantly more efficient.

Flexibel

Boosting Production Line Efficiency

We frequently observe that customer production requirements change over time. Our versatile and modular systems often provide high configuration potential right from the start, enabling uncomplicated adaption to changing needs.

For example, a large international corporation wanted to increase throughput from 1,200 kg/h to 2,000 kg/h and expand its product range. Vermee adapted the concept of an existing hotmelt production line and expanded the cooling system with additional underwater belt modules without modifying the filling equipment. The space-saving modular extension was implemented quickly and with minimal production interruption.

Modular

Increasing Production Capacity

Another customer request involved a midsize company wanting to increase production volume. Vermee provided a modular standard solution for a complete hotmelt system that enabled continuous production of weight-accurate standardized hotmelt pouches. In addition to the spatial efficiency of the new system, Vermee also advised the customer on selecting peripheral equipment to support the right investment decision.

More Than Just Filling

Customization Beyond Filling

Vermee supports customers in customizing the entire production process. One midsize company with a special product – an oily mass with very high consistency, similar to modeling clay – wanted to integrate a supplier’s production into its own operations. Vermee modularly adapted an existing filling system and added a cross-welding unit.

A key added value was developing and designing an individual portioning solution using a pump and screw hopper, along with a test concept to provide greater certainty for the new process. The customer valued Vermee’s willingness to challenge and optimize the overall process to enable efficient in-house production.

Requirement-Driven

Product-Specific Customization

At a trade conference, a large midsize company expressed the desire to fill its reactive chemical masses into cost-effective flat film with an exact mixing ratio of 98:2 rather than traditional rigid cartridges.

Vermee accepted the challenge. In collaboration with the customer, we:

  • Adapted an existing CHUB clip filling system from a 1:10 to a 97:3 mixing ratio
  • Implemented specific aluminum-composite film required to meet the chemical product’s high barrier needs.

By ensuring air-free filling and an appropriate packaging concept, the product’s unwanted reaction is prevented, achieving the required minimum shelf life of one year. Vermee also offers customers the opportunity to produce samples and small series to support successful market launch.
